Program Subject Matter

The newly introduced programs in psychology promote an understanding of the psychological processes underlying normal and abnormal human behavior with a special focus on social and cultural aspects. Both Psychology programs offered, the American and German, will open doors to the same counseling and education careers and to the same advanced Master studies as comparable Bachelor's degrees from state-recognized German universities would.

German degree: 3 years (full-time); 180 ECTS credits
US degree: 4 years (full-time); 120 US credits

Tuition Fees
Tuition Fees depend on the number of attended courses. Full-time students pay 280 Euros per US credit (equivalent 2 ECTS credits), part-time students 350 Euros per US credit (equivalent 2 ECTS credits).The fees are subject to change.

Start of study
Spring and fall semester

The general education part of the American psychology program helps provide a broader perspective beyond technical knowledge. This is important not only because German human resource managers explicitly demand more of this from those they hire from private universities, but also because a broad education is required to enter Master studies within the American university system. The language of instruction is English.

  • Required Psychology Courses: Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Biological Psychology, Advanced Topics in Psychology, Statistics for Social Science Major   Further Courses: Social Psychology, Psychology of Motivation, Learning, Industrial Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Cross-cultural Psychology, Psychology of Health and Illness, Personality, Psychological Testing, Experimental Psychology + Lab
